Elephant Walk Wallhanging

This pattern is "Elephant Walk" from the 2000 issue of Quilt it For Kids from Quilter's Newsletter.  It is quilted using a yellow machine embroidery thread with stitchng in the ditch around each elephant, a criss-cross pattern in the chequerboard border and some straight lines around the inner border.


I added the hanging tabs and topstitched those to echo the quilting in the inner border.  As the cat had slept on and kneaded holes in the batting originally intended for this project I used some left over 100% cotton bump interlining, which is a heavy flannelette type material, this has worked a treat.  This came out at 30" by 30" not including the hanging tabs.
