Works in Progress

These are my current WIPs.  I hope to move some off the list this year and I'm sure some more will appear too.  Quilting is like that.

"Snakes and Ladders"

Black & white quilt A 7' square black and white monster of a quilt to a design by Colin Brandi.  At last I have basted it, my first BIG project with basting spray so now it is ready to quilt when I pluck up the courage.  It is so big I had to stand on a step ladder to get this picture just after I had finished sandwiching on the floor at work. I am intending to complete this as my "Quilt for Me" this year (2004)

RCTQ May Flowers Challenge

May Flowers A dozen 12" floral blocks made for a sampler style quilt.  This quilt top was quilted by a long arm quilter in the USA in  April 2004 and now needs binding and labelling.  As you can see this one too has been "inspected" by Blackbean.

For more details of this quilt click here

Starry, starry night quilt

During 2002 I took part in a block swap hosted by Jessamy and now need to set the superb blocks I received.

Friendship Star Quilt

Another star block quilt from the swap organised by Kate in 2003

Frugal Patches

Frugal patches A scrap quilt using "The Frugal Patch" block as found on the Quilter's Cache

The idea is to reduce my scrap "basket" so that the useful bits of fabric are either big enough to keep for cutting into and the tiddly bits have been used up in this.  The rectangular pieces are cut at 1.5" x 2.5" and the coloured squares "on point" are  3 3/8".

The only fabric I have bought is WOW (white on white) for the backgrounds - there are 6 different ones in it so far.

The blocks are 10.5" unfinished.  So far I have made 12 blocks and I reckon I'll need 25 to make a nice sized quilt.........

........ time for some more cutting.

RCTQ Mini RR

My centre is well on its way and I am now working on my third "victim"!  This project should see us all with our own centres with their spiffing new borders back in our hands in the Autumn.

CFQG Block of the Month

My progress pictures are on Mardi's RCTQ DIY BOM page.  The pattern is the CFQG Royal BOM.  I haven't decided which layout I'm doing yet so I'm making one of each main block per month and one of each/any bonus blocks too.  Then I'll make more of the blocks I want at the end to balance the layout.

Also various WHIMs (works hidden in mind).   I haven't got any PIGS (Projects in Grocery Sacks) though :-)
